Description
Bodhichitta—the desire to awaken for the good of all beings—is described in Tibetan Buddhism as the foundation for the spiritual path. Our course will be a discussion group in which we will all participate in sharing what it is that motivates us in pursuing our spiritual path. What are our intentions, desires, and goals and how can we best fulfill them? Robert will facilitate and bring in ideas he’s familiar with from the tantric scriptures of India as well as the Tibetan Buddhist text Aaron is quite fond of, 37 Verses on the Practice of a Bodhisattva, by Shantideva. Although Robert is not an expert on this text, it will provide a lot of material for us all to contemplate.
Robert studied the scriptures of Indian yoga for many years under spiritual masters from India. His studies were undertaken in conjunction with the practices of his tradition, so that the teachings were never merely speculative. This course will include contemplations and tantric meditation practices.
