Description

Deep Spring Center teaches meditation and supportive practices to help people realize that they are awake, that their essence is love, and how to live from awakened consciousness. Because of this, Deep Spring focuses on meditation and the dharma, combined with a focus on spiritual inquiry. Who are we and why are we here? How do we live this life with love, with kindness?

This newcomers’ class will reflect this orientation and focus. We will teach both meditation and spiritual inquiry. This three-month online class is for new students who are drawn to participate in Deep Spring’s programs and classes. The goal of this class is to prepare the students to participate in more advanced Deep Spring classes and programs, including The Eden Project, retreats, etc.

To this end, we will give instruction in beginning Vipassana and Pure Awareness meditation, both drawn from the Buddhist tradition, but taught with no religious beliefs. The class will support students in establishing a regular daily meditation practice, encourage them to find the benefits of participating in a spiritually-oriented community, and present helpful heart and mind practices for daily life.
